Please read this file in its entirety as it contains information that you might find useful. For version history, please refer to changelog.txt. * POST-INSTALLATION NOTES Jamcast is immediately available and visible on your home network upon a successful installation. If you received and error during the installation, try fixing the problem and re-running the setup program. If you need help troubleshooting or correcting the issue, please visit our support forums or email us at: Web: http://www.sdstechnologies.com Email: support@sdstechnologies.com Your networked home audio devices should know that Jamcast is available and ready for use. It will appear with the friendly name you specified during the installation (default: "Jamcast"). If you are unsure of how to connect to Jamcast from the device, please refer to the device's user guide as this process can vary somewhat. Sometimes it helps to reboot the device in order to force it to re-discover compatible devices on your network. NOTE: Some UPnP servers acquire exclusive use of ports necessary for Jamcast and your networked devices. It may be necessary to stop other UPnP servers running on the same PC as Jamcast for UPnP device discovery to work properly. Troubleshooting tips: 1) The Jamcast installer will configure your Windows firewall to allow Jamcast to communicate with other devices properly. How- ever, you'll need to configure other software firewalls manually. Check your firewall's documentation for instructions. Default Ports: TCP 58641, TCP 58642, UDP 1900, UDP 51000-51009 2) Make sure you can ping the device from the PC that Jamcast is installed on. Open the command prompt and type: ping . If the request times out, you may not be able to communicate with the device at all. Check your device and network configuration for problems. 3) By default, the Jamcast service runs within the security context of "LocalSystem", which will typically not have the permissions required to share media within a network folder. If you'd like to share media within a network folder, change the log on account for the Jamcast service: 1) Open Control Panel / Administrative Tools / Services 2) Right-click on the Jamcast service and choose Properties 3) Click on the "Log On" tab 4) Click "This account" and enter the username and password for an account that has permission to read from the path you want to share. NOTE: Realtime monitoring of network paths is not supported at this time. A full startup scan will be necessary for Jamcast to see recent changes to media within network paths. * SOFTWARE CREDITS =================================================================== FFmpeg version SVN-r18199 =================================================================== FFmpeg is licensed under the GNU General internal License (GPL).
