I downloaded Jamcast and am having an issue. I am running vista and using a sound bridge. Jamcast works great to play my music from my itunes but as soon as i attempt to play the virutal sound card, it shuts down jamcast and I cant restart it. I get this as the error.
The Jamcast service shutdown unexpectedly. Please forward the following diagnostic information to technical support: System.Exception: 2 at Jamcast.Windows.Multimedia.WaveInHelper.Try(Int32 err) at Jamcast.Windows.Multimedia.WaveInRecorder..ctor(Int32 device, WaveFormat format, Int32 bufferSize, Int32 bufferCount, BufferDoneEventHandler doneProc) at Jamcast.Media.Server.IO.WinMMCaptureDataPipe.FetchData(Object o) at System.Threading._ThreadPoolWaitCallback.WaitCallback_Context(Object state) at System.Threading.ExecutionContext.Run(ExecutionContext executionContext, ContextCallback callback, Object state) at System.Threading._ThreadPoolWaitCallback.PerformWaitCallbackInternal(_ThreadPoolWaitCallback tpWaitCallBack) at System.Threading._ThreadPoolWaitCallback.PerformWaitCallback(Object state) .

What can I do to fix?

Hi johnymac4,

Sorry you ran into troubles here, thanks for providing the diagnostic information. I suspect there is an issue initializing the recording from your sound card, perhaps because it is not able to accommodate the requested sampling rate.

Can you provide more information about your audio card (brand, etc.)? Also, does you card have some sort of a control panel applet that will allow you to adjust the sampling rates, number of channels, etc.? Perhaps we need to tweak something there...

Thanks!
Scott
