Purchase of a software license entitles you to unlimited use of Jamcast on a single workstation or server.
So does this really mean that I can't install Jamcast, with a valid license, to more than one computer?
I'm asking because I was thinking of buying but I need to be able to use it
both
on my desktop PC and laptop.
This is because sometimes my PC is unavailable (eg. gf using) and sometimes the other way around (eg. borrowing it for my dad).
So I need to be able to use Jamcast in both situations.
If it's just so that you can't have it logged on from 2 machines at the same time, then it's OK.

Huntta:
I have bought only one license, but have Jamcast installed on two different computers in my home. When installing the licensed version on both computers, I merely used the same user ID and password to validate both licenses. I figure this should be OK, since 1) I own both computers, and 2) I only run one instance of Jamcast at any given time.

This intrests me too, even though I bought it already. I'm using Jamcast on my 2008R2 server, but I'd also like to run it on my UMPC for Spotify/Virtual Soundcard usage. I'm the only user, so only one Jamcast is streaming at any time, even though they might be running simultaneusly.

Hi all,
This scenario is fine, and we're working on getting the license language corrected a bit to be more specific since there so many inquiries to this effect. As long as your installing for personal use within your own home and private network, you're within the terms of the license as intended.
Thanks to all for inquiring about this.

Hey folks,
Please note that this language has been updated to read as follows:
Quote:
Purchase of a software license entitles you to unlimited personal use of Jamcast on up to three computers.
Please let me know if you have any questions about this.
Thanks!

Hi,
I finally had the time and the money so I bought the one w/ lifetime updates!
Believe me or not but this is the first program I've ever bought (if not counting eg. Windows license coming with a new computer) since I usually always use freeware.
But Jamcast seems to be all over such a quality and well programmed product and with the great virtual soundcard feature I think it deserved it.
I bought the one with lifetime updates because I have faith that Jamcast will someday outperform TVersity and PS3 Media Server so I wouldn't need them anymore. At least I hope it will! Both of those media servers have a lot to improve so it is definitely possible for Jamcast to rise above them.

Thanks, Huntta. That's very nice of you to say.

I promise, you'll get your extra 10 bucks out of Jamcast before too long.

Hi from Spain.
I'm thinking in buying jamcast license, but I'm in doubt if is interestig ten dollars more for the all life upgrades. My question is , What are you thinking to improve in the future? May be send a desktop image to ps3/proyector/tv? could you give me any example of future improvements?
There is a way to listen spotify with ps3 media server. What else offers jamcast?
Thanks and sorry for my english

Hi indirrana,
Thanks for stopping by. This is a difficult question to answer.
To be honest, paying the extra $10 for a lifetime license is a leap of faith.
I think it would be unfair to make promises to the community about new features, because future development of Jamcast is a fluid thing. New ideas might take priority over existing ideas, requests from the user community often take priority over existing scheduled work, etc. To this effect, the future is uncertain.
What is certain though, is that charging people money for the same software they can get for free elsewhere will not work. Jamcast will need to grow in unique and exciting ways in order for it to be successful as a commercial product. To be sure, there is a list of ideas for features that I think will be both unique and exciting.
I know I didn't give you the answer you were looking for, but I hope this helps.
Thanks!
Scott
