You can use VPN and Remote Desktop to access your computer remotely, and this would allow you to control Jamcast outside of your LAN. Is this the sort of thing that you were looking for?

A remote-desktop type of application would allow you to see and control remotely your entire computer, including your music libraries, as well any other application running on your home computer (including Jamcast). LogMeIn is one such remote tool (http://www.logmein.com/). It's simple to install and run, and is offered as a free one-month trial, making it easy to check out before you buy.

Ahh, now I see. Have you tried Shoutcast? At any rate, good luck with that - I don't think broadcasting to the internet is quite in the scope of Jamcast (I could be wrong).

Opera browser has what is called "Opera Unite", which are services you can run. One is called "Media Player" which I think does what you desire. It streams your home media files to your external browser. You have to leave Opera running at home to make it work. I have used both FireFox and Opera to listen to mp3's at work. These services are in their infancy and very limited in features, but it is real easy to set up and does work.Might want to check it out.

Something's brewing in this thread: http://www.sdstechnologi...m-across-internet-.aspx

Thought you might want to keep an eye on it (or subscribe to it). Wink

Thanks!
