I have two network adapters, ethernet and WLAN.
Ethernet is connected to the internet and WLAN to my home entertainment system. Both have unique IPs of course etc.

So I think the possibility of specifying which adapter Jamcast shares the stream to would be nice.
In PS3 Media Server you can select the adapter from a dropdown list and in TVersity you can specify the IP where to serve media.
I just would like to make sure my neighborhood can't listen to my music since I live in a student building and the internet is shared among the houses (eg. I can see the computers in my building through windows network discovery and even access them if they have shared any folders).

Another small addition I'd like to see is a checkbox about starting the Jamcast service on startup next to the "Run system tray utility at startup" as I prefer to launch the program AND the service manually.
Of course I can do it with going to services and setting the Jamcast service from "automatic" to "manual" but still I think it should be in the server manager options too.

And btw. thanks for the great program!

Hi Huntta,

Thanks for the feedback. Glad you are enjoying the software. Smile

Interestingly enough, the manual IP configuration existed until one of the later beta releases. I saw it as a burden to users but it was never intended as a security-related feature, only to manually specify the network adapter you want Jamcast to operate on. It was replaced with a zero-configuration solution that auto-detects and launches Jamcast network services on all connected adapters, and handles connections come and go while the service is running.

Now that you mention it though, I definitely see the security-related need there, so I'm adding it to "the list". The upcoming 1.1 release is already way overdue, but I'll see what I can do to get it squared away in the next release after that.

Regarding the Server Manager option for the service startup options, this will go on the list too. Thanks for the suggestion. Smile

Thanks!
Scott
