Hi!

I've just installed the latest version of Jamcast and can't get the file scanning to work. Everything else works fine.

At first I got some "permission denied" errors because the directories were shared, but I solved that.

The posts in my logfiles looks like this:

04-03-2010 05:01:57 Scanning "D:\Filmer\Film"...
04-03-2010 05:01:57 Scanned 0 tracks in 0,00 seconds (NaN tracks/sec) [NaN% enum files, NaN% query dir, NaN% query track, NaN% read metadata, NaN% db add, NaN% commit tx, NaN% fff, NaN% playlists, NaN% other]

I know that there are files in the directory, and I have successfully shared them with for example Nero Mediahome.

Can you help me? I'm running Windows 7 in Swedish. Can it be a character encoding issue?

Hey DreamT,

Thanks for stopping by to report this. Sorry you ran into some difficulty.

Honestly, I'm still thinking this is permissions-based. The scanner's not doing any work, as evident by the logfile and how much time is passing before it's "done". That indicates to me it's not able to see any files.

The Jamcast service runs as LocalSystem, a special user that has just enough permissions to handle most tasks on the local PC. Is your D: drive mapped to a network disk? How did you solve your earlier permissions-related issue?

In any case, you might try changing the Jamcast service logon account to be your account. Let me know if you need assistance doing this.

Thanks!
Scott
