Thanks for the suggestions, Scott. I've downloaded the latest update (0.9.8.33)and I'm still experiencing the periodic delay. I took another look at my ipconfig results, and while I didn't see an explicit reference to 10.0.0.1, I did notice the following:
Tunnel adapter Local Area Connection* 6:
Media State . . . . . . . . . . . : Media disconnected
Connection-specific DNS Suffix . :
Description . . . . . . . . . . . : isatap.{4C6875B5-B67C-40AF-A67B-764DA640E
3AC}
Physical Address. . . . . . . . . : 00-00-00-00-00-00-00-E0
DHCP Enabled. . . . . . . . . . . : No
Autoconfiguration Enabled . . . . : Yes
Interrestingly the Physical Address listed here includes 00 in the first six hex digits, which corresponds to the all-zero MAC address in the mystery device identified in the Jamcast Server Manager. I have to admit I'm a bit out of my depth with this, but I thought perhaps this could be the correspondent address. Still, I don't know what the "isatap." description refers to. Any thoughts?
Regards,
Jambo

Heya Jambo,
Another red herring I'm afraid. The 00-00 MAC you see in the Devices tab is what I've purposefully returned for IP's whose MAC cannot be resolved (this change as of the .33 release, ie my solution to the event log warning you were getting earlier). That particular adapter is out of play as it indicates disconnected. BTW, ISATAP is Internet/Site Automatic Tunnel Addressing Protocol, which I believe has something to do with IPv4/IPv6 routing (and is therefore not required until IPv6 takes over the internet).
Tell you what, if you can do a Wireshark capture that includes your periodic playback issues, I'll analyze it for you. This will tell us a ton about what's going on and will very likely give us something to act upon.
If you're interested in going this route, you can get Wireshark here
http://www.wireshark.org/
. If you've never used it before, I think your technical prowess will get you through. It's essentially start, stop, and save, and of course if you have any questions just ask. While you're reproducing the behavior with the capture going, take note of things like track #'s that fail, # seconds into the capture that the failure appears to you, etc. so that I have enough frame of reference to look at the capture file intelligently. Also, keep and mind that this capture file is going to get pretty big, so be mindful of that when selecting a playlist on the device. All MP3's would obviously be the best choice, and close your email client (and other network-connected apps) so you minimize network activity and don't send me sensitive data.
Hopefully we'll see your friend at 10.0.0.1 in the capture somewhere too.
Thanks, and good luck!
Scott

Hi Scott,
Long time no talk. I finally got back to debugging this problem, and it appears to be the result of an error in my network configuration. If you look back to my post #11, you can see that I was using two routers "daisy-chained" together to get better wireless coverage in my house. Apparently, there was an error in the configuration of the wireless access point. I reconfigured this, and voila! No problems since. Many thanks for your help. While you didn't exactly solve my problem, you certainly pointed me in the right direction.
Regards,
Jambo
