What a fine piece of work!

For what i have seen now jamcast can do the things i was hoping for.

Only thing i have missed for now is a last.fm integration, so it scrobbles what i play. I know it is doable, cause with other programs such as ps3 media server it works.

Keep up the good work.

Hey there,

Thanks very much. Glad you like what Jamcast has to offer so far.

You mean just the updates to last.fm to update which track you're playing right? Not anything about track ratings or anything like that...

I'm going to put scrobbling on the short list. It's an easily attained enhancement to the software that I think a lot of people will benefit from. Thanks for the great idea. Smile

Thanks!

Thanks, no I was wondering because there's a few different ways to go about it. To scrobble from the server is kind of an interesting case because you're supposed to submit the track when it's done playing, and only if it's played for a significant period of time. The server can't know when (or even if) the track's completed playback.

When you've seen it work from the server in the past, is it just updating the "now playing" status or actually submitting tracks to your profile?

Thanks!

Pretty much done with this...

It worked out a little weird because as a server, Jamcast can't know how much of the track you've listened to. But I talked to last.fm at some length about this (cool people) and they are OK with Jamcast making a best-effort as to when to scrobble.

But it works. Smile

Hi NoMaD,

Weeks, not months. It's a big release but we're about done. Here's a teaser shot of Jamcast scrobbling to last.fm:
