Hi

Yesterday everything was peaches with JAMCAST, but today I have encountered nothing but problems.

First of all, when I click in system-tray to open the server settings I first have to allow jamcast to make changes on the computer - which I didn't have to do initially.

When I click "agree" I get a wonderful error-board with the text:

An unhandled exception has occured: InvalidArgument=Value "e" is invalid for "SelectedIndex"

The control panel will now exit.

If I close the error-message I get the same result when attepting to open server settings, but if I leave the error-message open and attempt to open the server settings again, I can get into the settings, but change nothing (which means that I cannot set jamcast to stream using my "virtual audio cable", rendering Jamcast totally useless for me).

In addition, when clicking "devices" I get a new error-message saying:

An unhandled program exception has ocurred. For further assistance, please contact technical support.

Again, clicking "ok" on this messages terminates the server-config (but not the actual server).

So what now? Sad

Hi MInatism,

Sorry to hear you ran into trouble. It seems to me that there's a setting that got assigned but is invalid and is crashing the application when starting up. It would be difficult to know for sure which setting was the culprit, so unless you have some guesses as to which setting changes might have been applied last, the easiest thing to do will be to uninstall Jamcast and reinstall.

I might also suggest restarting the PC after the reinstall, just for good measure.

Sorry for the hassle, but I hope this advice will get you enjoying the software again.

Thanks!
Scott

Hi Scott, and thank you for the speedy reply. I am not sure what exactly happened, but a total uninstall and reg-edit wipe did clean the system and remove the problem. I still get the problem from opening devices, but only if my ps3 is linked to the network. When it's off, devices opens like a charm. Not exactly an issue to me, as streaming to the ps3 works perfectly.

Hi Minatism,

Glad you're a bit better off, but I'm still interested in what's going on.

There should be some error logging written to the Windows Application Event Log when these crashes occur. If you don't mind, could you email the log details to me at the email addy below?

I appreciate you bringing this one to my attention. Smile

Thanks!
Scott
