Hi gazw847,
Thanks for stopping by the check it out! Can you describe in a little more detail how far you are getting? Also, what OS is Jamcast installed on?
Thanks!

Hi, thanks for the reply. I am running my PC on Vista at the moment. I am sorry but I am not very technically minded so I have not got very far. I have downloaded the program, and set my pc to file share. Jamcast can see my PS3 and my PS3 can see Jamcast but that is as far as I can get, sorry.

OK, well under Music on the PS3 you want to choose Jamcast. Then navigate as follows:
My Music Collection -> Playlists -> Virtual Soundcard
Then click play on the Virtual Soundcard track.
Play Spotify on your PC and you should hear it on your PS3.
Hope it's that easy for you. Let me know.
Thanks!

Hi Scott,
I have a similar problem not getting spotify to play.
I did all that is said on the instructions and Jamcast is playing fine with my shared folder of mp3´s but when I choose Virtual Soundcard nothing happens. Well, something happens but no sound.
I went to the audio device manager you written about in the faq and the audio input is the right one. Strangly enough though, all the levers are "greyed" out except for the master. But they are all on say 80 % from maximum. Has this something to do wht its not working? How can I fix it if it is the case?
Sorry for my english btw, Im swedish.
Really want to get this thing to work. Seems awsome!

Sorry bout that. Im sitting on a PC with Windows XP. PS3 firmware 3.0. Using it PS3 media server and the audio works great as do Jamcast with my shared folder.
Though I didnt install it under the same drive as Windows, but that couldnt be a problem could it?

Nono, that shouldn't matter at all.
So you've set your recording input to Stereo Mix or something similar?
Via the Sound control panel, how many actual recording devices do you have? There's a drop down box where you can set your "preferred" recording input, do you have more than one thing there?
Thanks!

Yes I have a bunch of different options, Stereo Mix is one example.
Problem is they are all greyed out so I cant do anything with em.
But on the other hand they are set to like 80 % of max so shouldnt that make it work anyway?
Hmm looked at your question again and maube you mean different soundcards? Im using the inboard RealTeak for all sound except my home recording studio where I use an M-Audio Delta. I choose the RealTeak audio input (it was the standard one) there cos none of the others had "stereo mix". Hope this makes sense...

Hey, yeah this is what I meant. On more than one occasion, I've found with some users that multiple sound devices cause some confusion.
If you go into Control Panel and choose Sounds and Mutimedia, then click the Audio tab, there's a playback section and a recording section, each with a dropdown box. Are those the only 2 devices listed?
If so, at least for troubleshooting purposes, could you unplug your M-Audio box and reboot Windows and see if that makes a difference?
If your Stereo Mix and other recording inputs are greyed out, that does concern me...
Thanks,
Scott

Thanks,
There is also one for midi but for the recording options there is 5
Realtek HD Audio Input (wich Im currently using)
Realtek HD Digital Input
Delta AP 1/2
Delta AP Monitor
Delta AP SPDIF
The only one where Stereo Mix is included is the one I use. But as we talked about. Its greyed out.

From the looks of it, you're not the only one with this issue.
http://www.google.com/se...ng+slider&aqi=g-sx1
Jamcast basically "records" audio from whatever the soundcard is to set to capture from, so anyone complaining about not being able to record because of these greyed out sliders might have solved the issue for you already.
Also, you should probably check with Realtek and make sure you have the latest drivers; if not, upgrade and see if your volume sliders re-enable again.
I do believe that the greyed out sliders is indicative of not being able to record audio from that card.
Let me know what you find...
Thanks!

Yes, updated drivers and everything. I suppose there is no way around it. It seems its not an error that they are greyed out but I just cant figure out how to solve it...
Plus, for some reason, I cant even play my shared folder anymore lol!
