Hi,

I have a problem. I have installed the JamCast program on my computer. I didn't change anything during the installation.
All went well, until I started my home cinema system and tried to find the folder "My music Collection". There wasn't any.

My Internet signal (from distributor) is connected to my wireless router. I have my computer (where I installed the Jamcast) connected to the wireless router. My home cinema system is connected with wire to my router.

How shall I do to make this work. I read the Newbie FAQ, but that didn't solve the problem.

Am I able to see the My Music... folder on my computer? If yes, where do I find it?

Hi abercrombie,

Thanks for stopping by. What is the make/model of your network media player? The answer to your question varies on which device you have.

Thanks!

Hi, thanks for answering. I understand you can't help me without knowing the "boundaries". Sorry.

I have a D-Link DIR-615 wireless router (in-signal is static, out-signal is dynamic). My home-cinema system is a Samsung HT-BD1250, which is connected with a normal ethernet wire to the router.
Like I wrote before I haven't changed anything e.g port forward or virtual server settings.

When I search for network devices (on my Samsung) I can only find my computer's IP and therefor only connect to my computer. This gives me the opportunity to browse my shared folder on my computer on my Samsung.
Should the JamCast appear as an extra network device with an own IP? The reason why I installed JamCast is that I want to hear the music that my Spotify-program is playing.

Hi abercrombie,

Jamcast works only with UPnP/DLNA devices. Typically, a device with this capability will find Jamcast on the network and it will be displayed as "Jamcast". I did some Google-ing for the HT-BD1250 and I see that it has some sharing capabilities but they are not advertised as being UPnP/DLNA functions. Have you ever successfully connected to any type of media server software in the past, or have you just been able to browse the disk directly?

Thanks!
Scott
