It has been about 10 month now since Scott announced the plans for plugins, how is it coming along? BigGrin

Hey Jonas. Smile

The plugin framework is essentially there, just undocumented. I was waiting to hear if there was any interest from the community before I "finalized" anything -- no sense in locking down an API when I don't know the kind of things people would be interested in developing.

Did you have something in mind?

Nope, nothing in mind, I just think it's fun to play around.

Maybe figure out a workaround for the TViX Wink

I am writing a C# app that needs to stream audio from the PC microphone to a Barix Exstreamer. I need the ability to mute the microphone when it is not needed. Is there a plugin that provides this capability.

Hi Lav142,

Thanks for stopping by. There are no extensibility bits that could help in this case I'm afraid, but I think you could use still Jamcast to accomplish your goal. Your project would work like this:

1) Set Jamcast to use hardware capture mode, and your audio card's recording input to be the microphone

2) Download the Virtual Soundcard raw PCM audio via HTTP

3) Stream the Virtual Soundcard audio to the Barix device, or the appropriate number of zeros when your app is muted.

Also be aware that any way you go about this kind of thing, and due to factors outside of your control (network latency, device buffers) there will be several second delay between your speech and the device.

Hope this helps.

Thanks!
Scott
