Hey guys,
As to why it disappears, perhaps there is an error behind the scenes that causes the Xtreamer to remove Jamcast from the list? It's hard to tell. My first question would be -- have you been able to get any other UPnP servers to work with the Xtreamer?
I found this post on their forums, wanted to share it with you guys:

Thanks!

Right now I think the problem lies in my 5 year old motherboard which doesn't have any up-to-date new drivers for the built-in soundcard. I'm using a USB-PnP earphones, but it doesn't have that mixer-output which is needed. Only output it has is the mic.

I don't know... it seems like the folks posting in that thread I shared with you are having similar problems, once mentioning "I tried upnp me to a while ago ...and got the same result, it crashed."
Hmm... maybe the UPnP capabilities of this device are just buggy?
Thanks!

I gave you the name of the UPnP server that is implented in the xtreamer. Maybe you can find something about that?

Ah, GeeXbox -- I missed that earlier.
So you mentioned that you know the device ships with this software, but have you yourself gotten it to work successfully with the Xtreamer?
We can do some network captures and compare the known working server with Jamcast, if that's a possibility.
Thanks!

Yee, I read somewhere on the xtreamer-forum that it is using that UPnP-software.
Well, it bugs out for me mostly. But I still guess it's my old motherboard with my old on-built soundcard. Because when I have enabled the Jamcast server I can't see the Jamcast-device in my Windows7 Network, it lists all UPnP-devices there. I can see the Xtreamer there.
But when I disable the onboard soundcard in the BIOS and I use the USB-headphones, the Jamcast-device shows up in the Network(UPnP-devices). But the USB-headphones don't have that mixer output that is needed for Jamacast to listen on.
But sometimes the jamcast-UPnP service IS shown in the Xtreamer-UPnP directory. When it starts up. And if I'm fast enough, I can find the file that starts the stream from Jamcast. And after that it doesn't matter if Xtreamer and jamcast is loosing each others UPnp connection. It just goes on. Strangly......

Hey Bulldog76,
Cool, congrats on your purchase.
The PS3 fills a much bigger buffer than the Xbox360 does, which accounts for the longer delay.
You know, I haven't tried this yet, but you might try
ForceMP3CaptureStream
in addition to
EnableSeekTrickMode
and see how the PS3 handles it. Before the EnableSeekTrickMode option was available, the MP3 stream was unplayable on the PS3 due to the way the console requests MP3's in pieces, but with EnableSeekTrickMode on it might work... and you might get less of a delay. You set these options via the Device Properties editor in the Jamcast Server Manager (right-click the PS3 to edit).
Let me know if that helps.
Thanks!

I can live with the delay, now that i don´t have to listen to the 360s fans that sounds like a Jetplane.
I do not find the option
EnableSeekTrickMod
I changed the Force mp3 capture but as you said that desn´t work. I thougt i would find the Enable seektrick in the same place as the forcecapture.

Oh geez, sorry. I forgot that EnableSeekTrickMode hasn't made the official release yet.
Try this version:

Just tried it out. din´t work. With both enabled i can acces the virtual playlist but there is no sound at all comming.
Anotherthing with this release. I noticed that i now have avbout 14 Playstation 3 devices under the devices tab. (Same IP adress) maybe a bug in that release or somethings just went crazy right now. think i will downgrade again. Thanks anyway.
I can live with the delay time.
