I'm experiencing somewhat the same issue as the OP. Allthough for me it's Spotify who's acting up.

I can any song I want and it works just fine. However, after a short period of time, mostly in between songs, something happens and I get the exact same static noise as the original poster. Then if I turn on one of the songs that used to work just fine, it's all static.

If I wait around 5 minutes and try again, I can play any song flawlessly again.

Any ideas?

Please download the 0.9.7.49 update release, it appears to have taken care of this issue. Please let me know if you find otherwise.
