I have a stationary pc that i use Jamcast with, i connect to my samsung led tv by networkcable, this works great and the sound is great and the bass is deep and so on...

Now, i have just bought a hp-notebook and i use my wireless network to connect to the led tv. Problem is now that the sound is very weak and low and without any bass. I have tried adjusting the bass and turning on the soundcards processing effects on the notebook but no effect on the sound. Please help.

Hi Markus,

Typically, what you describe indicates that Jamcast is capturing the audio from a microphone on the PC. What operating system is the HP notebook running? Since it's new, I'm going to assume for now that it's Vista or Windows 7, so if you right-click on the speaker icon in the Windows system tray and select Playback Devices, what items do you see listed there?

Thanks!

Its running Windows 7. I see Speakers: Soundmax Integrated Digital HD Audio and its selected. There are no other items there. If go to the Recording tab i have Line In selected, not microphone.

Hi Markus,

OK, thanks for that. If you open Jamcast Server Manager and click the Sharing tab, then the Virtual Soundcard tab, is it set to use "Windows core audio engine loopback"? If not, set it there, Apply your changes, and restart Jamcast and try again.

Thanks!

Hi again. I'm afraid there was no progress, it was already set to "Windows core audio engine loopback". I tried the other but with that i didnt get no feed and when i switched back the sound was the same as before. Do you want me to post or send you a log file or something?

Hi Markus,

Sure, if you can paste your medialog.txt to http://pastebin.org and share it here I will take a look at your capture audio quality settings.

Just to be sure about the microphone theory, can you get the sound playing and speak in the laptop's general direction to see if you voice is captured and played back thru the TV?

Thanks!
