Bulthazar wrote:Hello,
I have quite an annoying problem.
It seems for some reason that i can only connect right after the computer starts up, if the computer have been running for awhile my xbox360 refuses to connect.
And most of the times it doesn´t even find the jamcast server at all unless you stop and restart it, but even then it won´t connect.
My own conclusion of this is that something must be kicking in in windows after awhile that blocks it but i have no idea as to what it could be.
First i thought that it could be that Jamcast and Tversity together were the problem since i have the same problem with Tversity but i have tried uninstalling Tversity without effect.
Notable is that both windows own firewall and the one in my gateway is disabled and always has been.
On very rare occasions i have been able to connect to jamcast after several connection attempts.
Any ideas?
Hi Bulthazar,
Thanks for stopping by. Indeed, that sounds annoying. I hope I can help.
I like your theory about other UPnP software interfering, actually. did you take a look at WMP network sharing too? If so, that one like to start on its own as well and could very well be the culprit.
If you're comfortable with the command line, doing a netstat -an you should only see one binding to UDP port 1900 when the Jamcast service is running (and that we assume will be Jamcast alone).
Another thing you should look at is your firewall. It should definitely start before Jamcast, but just in case you might look to disable that and any other security products that you might have active.
Restart the Jamcast service after making changes to anything.
Hope this help. Let me know where you end up and we can troubleshoot from there.
Thanks!
