Every once in a while when using my xbox360 and spotify (music online streaming) the music lags behind the source. Sometimes it can be as much as 30 seconds, most of the time from 5-10 sec.
I also have some friends that I helped install and buy jamcast who have the same problem, some of them play the music directly from they're iPod on they're computer (no online streaming).
Most of the time it's nothing more than annoying, but sometimes it can be more of a problem. I.e. if the phone calls and I press pause on spotify it doesn't do anything before 30 sec, and the same goes if the music is loud and I want to speak with somebody on xbox chat I need to wait until the music is turned down.
And don't forget to keep up the good work. I really enjoy this program, all credits to you.

Hi Millenium,
Thanks for the kind words there.
In regards to the delay, unfortunately this is a combination of a couple of things that are in this case necessary evils, such as the device audio buffer.
In the 360's case the buffer is smaller than most other devices I've tested with. Have you tried using the ForceMP3CaptureStream setting? This cuts back on bitrate which eliminates potential delay on several fronts.
We can try an minimize the delay but no, unfortunately you'll not ever be able to eliminate it completely...
Hope this helps.
Thanks!
Scott

I haven't tried with anything else. I think I just found out the reason for the really big slowdowns. When I (i.e.) start up Need for Speed Hot pursuit, there is a ingame music that disable everything else your playing in the background. When the game is finished loading it is clearly that this is the reason since the music is like 15 sec. behind. If i press the "stop" button in xbox 360 for music, and then go back to virtual playlist -> play -> result is no lag.
I'm using the defualt settings on jamcast. I'm using Win 7.
I guess I just have to live with it until there will be some updates for the xbox or jamcast. No worries

I haven't tested it too much yet, but it could almost look like the newest version of jamcast solves this problem. It was more accurate and no lag on sound at all. It might also be because of an update on the xbox. At least it works better now
