Hi Penelope,

Thanks for stopping by, and I'm sorry to hear you've run into some trouble getting started. I'm sure you've not done anything wrong, this kind of thing happens from time to time.

If you have any type of firewall or internet security products running, please try stopping them temporarily and re-running the installer.

If you have any other PC's in the house you might try one of them as well, just as a diagnostics measure. It would be interesting to know if it works in one place and not the other.

I hope this helps get you sorted. Please let me know how you do and we'll take it from there.

Thanks!
Scott

getting the exact same error and I've disabled my antivirus. I cant turn off my router to do it, and I have no idea if it's trying to hit a port or whatever...

oh well, looked good, but if it wont even install, thats it for me..

Hi Damian,

Thanks for checking out Jamcast -- or at least trying to. I'm sorry you're having issues getting started.

I haven't seen other reports of issues with the activation services, so presumably we aren't experiencing any ongoing troubles. Of course, things might have been down at the time you posted this. Have you tried it again recently?

Besides your antivirus, do you have a software firewall running on that PC, or any other internet security products? How about a proxy server, are you behind one of those by chance?

Hope we can work this out...

Thanks!
Scott
