Hi,

Wouldn't it be neat to be able to start virtual soundcard playback from within the server manager? All devices show up there so why not be able to start Virtual soundcard playback to one or even synchronized on several playback devices detected? Then you could even have "favourite" devices that will automatically start playing the virtual soundcard when they are detected on the network.

I know this would basicaly be like integrating a simple version of a DLNA control point in the application which is probably outside the scope of features expected from a media server. However, for those like me, using Jamcast only for the virtual soundcard to have Spotify etc. wirelessly connected to my home entertainment system, it makes no sense having to use a separate control point just to start the virtual soundcard playback everytime I want to listen to some music.

Whatever you think of this idea, it's a great piece of software you've created!

Hi Pär,

Thanks for the kudos! Smile

You nailed it, the inclusion of the DLNA control point functionality in Jamcast would be necessary to make this happen. You might be able to use a 3rd-party control point application too -- none come to mind but with control points they can act upon server and devices from anywhere on the network.

However, there may be some other things in the works as far as making your favorite music service more directly accessible from Jamcast... stay tuned. Wink

Thanks!
Scott
