Good Morning everyone!

I wanted to stream a "radio" station around the house and this software is perfect!
The way I've set it up is that I run ots radio software, set it's output to a virtual audio cable and set jamcasts virtual sound card to that virtual audio cable. When it works, it's perfect!!

It worked flawlessly with my wdtv box and iphone for about an hour.
However, I have never been able to access the stream from windows media player and when I try to access from any other device (sony tv, ipod touch,) it says that it cannot access the server because it isn't authorised to do so. It also randomly drops and makes itself unavaliable (disappears from the device's media server lists).

I have checked the configurations of my devices in Jamcast and they are all auto allowed and set for upnp/dlna streaming.

Any idea of what the problem could be?

This software is brilliant and If i can get a reliable system going I will definitely purchase.
Thanks in advance for any help BigGrin
Stephen.

NOTE: In media player I can access the files that it has shared over dlna absolutely fine (when it's not dropping), I just cannot find the stream from my sound card.

Stevo443,

Good morning! Thanks for stopping by. Smile

Could you tell us more about your network setup -- do you have anything in place beyond what I'm going to call a "normal" home networking environment, which consists of one or more PC' or devices connected to a consumer router/switch with most or all of the out-of-the-box setting defaults? No extra routes or bridges or anything like that? Do you allow your PC and devices to get IP's via DHCP or do you have a static IP's assigned to the PC where Jamcast resides? Any VPN connections on that PC or any other network connections to speak of?

Open Jamcast Server Manager and check the Network/Remote Access tab and disable integrated security, Apply and restart the server. Does this happen to fix the authorization issue with the Sony device, etc.?

Thanks!
Scott

Hi Scott!
It has since rectified itself, the devices that I was trying to connect were in my parents house (3 Switches and a wireless router away) I disabled the firewalls on both routers and it magically appeared and is working perfectly. I narrowed it down to my linksys wrt160n somehow blocking traffic from jamcast (Blocking lan traffic... Weird eh?!).

As for windows media player. I found that i had to go into playlists to find the virtual audo card, not just music Blushing .

Thank you for your very fast response and I will certainly be purchasing this software.
Cheers!
