I am trying to use my PSaudio DAC./bridge with JAMCAST. When I am in the devices menu the apply button is always greyed out, no make what parameters I set for the DAC. Is there anything I can do to make this work??

Hi Dennis,
Thanks for checking out Jamcast! I'm sorry to hear that you ran into some troubles getting started.
From the Devices tab, it is not necessary to hit the primary Apply button when editing device properties -- the device properties dialog has its own Apply button that will save settings on a per-device basis.
Is this the PerfectWave DAC? How far have you been able to get so far? Does Jamcast appear on the device, can you select and browse, and are you able to get any playback at all?
I look forward to hearing back from you.
Thanks!
Scott

Yes this is the PerfectWave DAC with a bridge installed. The bridge is a renderer only, it does not have a control point or server built in. It has to be controled from an external control point like FooBar 2000 or an ipod app.
I have the same issue with my sonos zoneplayer.

Hi Dennis,
Thank you for that information.
Could you tell me a little more about how far you are able to get with Jamcast and the PWD?
Thanks!
Scott

I am not real sure how to get jamcast to play on the PWD. I have jamcast set up on my PC and I play something my PC. But I don't know how to send the output to my PWD. I can see jamcast on my control point, but if I select it all i get are read error 501.
I think I am missing something?
How do you get jamcast to play to a renderer>?

BTW I am the person doing the code for the PSAUDIO bridge, so if there is something I need to do on my end, please let me know. But I don't think the problem is on my side, because the sonos has the same issue. But I could be wrong.

Hi Dennis,
OK, so are you saying the PSD appears to be playing the Virtual Soundcard track, but you are hearing only silence?
If so, and Jamcast is running on Windows XP, you may simply need to configure your audio card to record from Stereo Mix. This is necessary for Jamcast to acquire the audio playing on the PC.
Here's some more information:

If I've misunderstood your current circumstances, let me know and we'll go in a different direction.
Thanks!
Scott

My situation changed a little since my first post. At home I am running on windows 7. I can get audio on my ipod using a controller app. But when I try to play to my PWD or sonos all I get is silence. I do see the metadata from the virtual sound card on my PWD, so I know it is trying. I'll check out your link shortly.

Thanks for your help, I have it working from FooBar 2000. There appears to be some kind of issue when using our ipod application, but that is probably my issue. Thanks again.

Hey Dennis,
You're welcome. If you want or need to continue troubleshooting with my assistance from this end, just let me know and we'll pick up where we left off...
Out of curiosity, what is your/PSaudio's draw to Jamcast at the moment? Trying to accomplish something specific, or just checking it out?
Thanks!
Scott
