I am trying to play streaming audio to a Sony SA-NS400 on a Windows 7 machine but no sound comes out. Jamcast recognizes the device. I have tried changing EnableSeekTrickMode and ForceMP3CaptureStream but no luck. Please advise.

Thank you.

Hi Ben,

Thanks for checking out Jamcast! Sorry to see you ran into some trouble getting started...

If you right-click the speaker icon in your Win7 system tray and choose Playback Devices, do you have multiple devices listed? Which one is default?

Typically on Windows 7 you don't need to do a thing to get the Virtual Soundcard working with Win7, but sometimes more advances audio hardware configuration can product unexpected results.

Thanks!
Scott

Hey androshay!

Are you using Windows 7 as well? If so, see my reply above.

If you're by chance using Windows XP, check out this page in the docs:

It's the part about Stereo Mix that you'll be most interested in (again Windows XP only).

Thanks!

I am running Windows 7. When I look under playback devices, I only see my PC speakers. Jamcast recognizes the speaker fine, but I guess the problem is that my audio settings do not. I can play to the speakers fine using the "Play To" option within Windows Media Player, but that is the only place my PC regonizes the speakers (outside of Jamcast).

It seems I may have to go to Sony support and determine how to get Win7 to recognize them as a playback device.
