Hello, I am sharing an internet connection and do not have access to the router configuration page.

I use jamcast to stream to my mediaplayer. For this to work I have to do some settings om the device tab of the Jamcast Server Manager. However, if my device reappears on the home network under a new IP-address all my settings are gone. Is there a way to tell Jamcast it has to remember devices by their name or mac address for example?

Hi Tom,

Thanks for checking out Jamcast. I'm real sorry that it took so long to get a response to you on this...

Unfortunately the IP address is the unique identifier for devices -- we used to use MAC but it's ambiguous for anything over a single hop (LAN bridges, internet connections, etc.) And UPnP/DLNA doesn't provide a great mechanism for this unfortunately...

Our recommendation here is to set a static IP on the media player. Is this possible in your circumstances?

Thanks!
Scott

This could be possible, just have to ask my neighbor. Thanks for your answer.
