Hi,

I installed Jamcast on my Vista laptop and it was immediately found by my BDP-S780 (via wifi). I enabled virtual soundcard, set to "default". At first, when selecting Virtual Soundcard on the BDP, I got a message "Audio file is corrupted". I then tried enabling SeekTrickMode and this crashed the blu-ray player. Help!

Thanks,

Elliott

Later.. disabled SeekTrickMode, enabled ForceMP3CaptureStream. No error message, no crash.. but no sound either.

Hey Elliot,

Sounds like you are about there. What version of Windows are you running? If XP, check this out:

Specifically, the part about Stereo Mix will help you out if you're getting silent playback.

Let us know how you do.

Thanks!

Thanks Scott, I'll take a look, though I am running Vista.

After I posted the above, the player crashed again - but I didn't note exactly the sequence of events. There is more than one way to access Jamcast from the player and I suspect it makes a difference which route you use.

Very sweet of you to be giving tech support on Christmas Day!

I briefly persuaded it to play sounds from the laptop's built-in mic - but can't reproduce this either now. All is silent...

Hi Elliot,

What playback devices are available in the Windows Sound control panel? Do you have more than one, and if so which one is checked as default?

When you got the mic to play, were you using Jamcast's hardware capture mode? What recording inputs do you have available in the Windows Sound control panel other than mic?

Any webcams or any other peripherals connected to the PC that play or capture/record audio?

Thanks!
Scott
